Check out the moon, it will be just a sliver of its crescent shape. Notice the two silvery orbs hovering close by. What you’ll see are the planets Venus and Jupiter, two of the brightest planets. If you start watching tonight, you’ll be able to see this threesome merge closer together. This event is called an occultation of planets by astronomers and will be especially beautiful in Western Europe where the moon will pass in front of Venus. In North America you may be able to see the darkened portion of the moon’s full globe glowing with a bluish gray hue.

Venus is unmatched in its brilliance. This winter the planet is expected to be a magnificent display of illumination prominent in the southwestern sky, which it traveled into in late August of this year. Venus is usually the first “star” you’ll notice shortly before sunset on clear nights.

Jupiter will be located slightly above Venus. It’s moving in the opposite direction so you’ll notice that it drops lower each evening. By the end of December it will be in close proximity to Mercury but will be difficult to see as this meeting takes place low in the sunset instead of high in the night sky. Then in January it will travel close to the Sun.

Buddha Boy back to Jungle

A teenage Nepali boy Named “Buddha Boy,”has fled back to the jungle,From remote forest of Ratanpuri, 150 km southeast of Kathmandu .
Ram Bahadur Bomjam, 18, became famous in 2005 after supporters starting sharing tales of his meditation feats, and they claimed he was a reincarnation of Siddartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism.
Ten days ago Bamjon reappeared after almost a year when he had disappeared in order to meditate in the jungle. This is the third time Bamjon has disappeared since his first appearance three years ago.for the last 10 days he has been blessing thousands of devotees who came daily to the site in dense jungle.

Thousands of people, some out of sheer curiosity, including many from neighbouring India walked to the site in the middle of dense forests to see him this time.

Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, was born a prince in Lumbini, a sleepy town in Nepal's rice-growing plains about 350 km southwest of Kathmandu more than 2,600 years ago.
The president of the Nepal Buddhist Council said claims by his supporters were not credible.

Little buddha Right Back

A Nepali boy who many believe is the reincarnation of Buddha has re-emerged from the jungle in southern Nepal, attracting thousands of devotees, from yesterday.

After retreating into the jungle for more than a year, Ram Bahadur Bamjan, 18, re-emerged Monday near Nijgadh town, about 100 miles south of the capital, Katmandu.

Upon hearing the news, thousands of Bamjan’s followers, some from as far away as India, Japan, USA, China traveled to the site yesterday to see him, police official Abhaya Joshi said by telephone.

There has been no formal declaration by Buddhist authorities that Bamjan is the reincarnation of the Buddha.

Vedic astrology

I don’t know what western astrologers say by way of philosophic basis for astrology but I would like to tell something about what Vedic astrology has to say in this regard, for without understanding the philosophical basis of astrology, one cannot understand the significance of astrological prediction.
According Vedic astrology astrological and philosophical works the basis of human existence is an intricate network or inter-relation of events and actions on all planes – physical, mental and moral. The law by which the individual progresses towards Moksha or spiritual liberation is the Karma or action in the sense of cause –effect and their intimate relationships. The Karma doctrine in a way is akin to Newton’s third law of motion that action and reaction are equal and opposite; but applied to moral and mental realms of life. Whatsoever we are reaping today, we have sown in the past may be in this life or in the life or lives previous. The man who suffers the effects is the man who generates the effects. if I think ill of others, I generates evil karma and I have to suffer the consequences of this evil karma. Therefore by controlling my thoughts I can regulate my Karma also. Karma is thus antithesis of Fatalism. There is blue print of my future in this birth as a consequence of my action – good, bad and indifferent- done in the past lives and my horoscope just reveals what these consequences would be.
While the horoscope indicates past Karma – the Prarabdha or the operative portion of the Karma being our destiny in this life, the expression of these indications as events would follow certain sequence in accordance with the movements of planets. Thus if as a result of past karma one is to lose one’s child in his 45 th year, in the horoscope of such a person, there would be a certain grouping of planets indicating the event. It is not the view of Vedic sages that the sun, the planets and the stars are just dead matters rushing about under the pull of blind forces.
The sages viewed astrology as a quest for verifiable knowledge. They were not primitive men merely conscious of the lure of the heavenly bodies as some of the modern educated ignoramuses think.
Vedic astrology does not much concern itself with the description of general character even though behavior-patterns and mental abnormalities are pointed out on the basis of soil –lunar relations. It concerns it self more with the delineation of future and predicting events.
